At City Gate Church, our City Sprouts (Birth through 4-years-old) and City Kids (Kindergarten through 6th grade) experience safe, age-appropriate environments where they learn about Jesus in a creative and relevant way.

Here's what to expect when visiting City Spouts or City Kids for the first time:

First, find the area marked for first-time families. There we will meet your family, check your child into our system, and then one of our volunteers will show you and your child to their room. We keep the whole family together during worship, and then you can either take your child or let them go with our leaders to their class during the short break. Our nursery (birth through 4-years-old) is available the whole service

Upon checking in for the first time, we will ask for the following personal information (NOTE: We value your privacy and will not share this information with anyone):

• Parent/guardian name(s)
• Child's name
• Child's birthdate
• Home address
• Phone number
• Any special instructions (allergies, special needs) for your children

Before Service: You can check-in your child in the lobby at a kiosk or with our volunteer at the check-in area or classroom. After finding your child’s name in the database, you and your child will be given matching name tags that are exclusive to your family and your visit. For security, your child will need to wear the name tag portion while you hold on to the matching tag.

After Service: After the service is complete, you will return to your child’s room and show your tag in order for your child to be released back to you.

During Service: In the event that we need to contact you during the service, we usually discretely send one of our volunteers to get you. We can also put your child’s identification code on the screen. We ask that you exit the auditorium immediately and go to your child’s room.

The safety and security of children is our highest priority. All of our teachers, helpers or volunteers are thoroughly background checked, and not just once, but every year. We always have multiple teachers and volunteers in every classroom, and no child is alone at any time. We have strict rules for classrooms and bathrooms. We also regularly train our children's ministry team.

Along with safety measures, we also have a security team during the entire service that is focused on making sure things are safe in and around the building and only approved volunteers are in the children's area.

Pastor Roxanne has been working with children most of her life. She is wildly passionate about ALL kids learning about Jesus in a fun way. We believe Roxanne is probably the most positive person in our entire church, and she is equally loved and adored by kids and adults. Roxanne has her Bachelor's degree in Counseling Psychology from Northwest University, and a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from George Fox University. Pastor Roxanne doesn't do all this amazing ministry alone, she has the most incredible team. They work hard to give City Sprouts and City Kids a lifetime of memories of having fun in church, while they experience God's love.
